AIST is implementing thorough measures to achieve both the mission of AIST and prevention of the spread of COVID-19 inside and outside of workplace, while protecting the health and lives of employees and their families.
In particular in the target prefectures of the state of emergency (hereinafter referred to as “target prefectures”), the government and the municipalities have requested of “70% reduction in the number of attending workers at workplace by using telework and so on”. In response to the request, we are making thorough efforts in the following measures to meet the target of the 70% reduction in the attendance rate.
【Specific measures】
- Reduce the attendance rate to 30% or less by taking measures such as telework, staggered working hours, work at other centers of AIST - satellite office – (hereinafter referred to as “telework, etc.”) at each research base in the target prefectures.
- Hold events online in principle.
- Business trips to and from the target prefectures should only be for essential businesses.
- Refrain from unnecessary outings and traveling/movement even in the daytime and avoid the crowds and busy hours when we plan our activities, etc.
In addition, the research bases in the areas other than the target prefectures are conducting "telework, etc." and other measures such as distributed to separate our working spaces for infection prevention.
By taking these measures, we are working on creating a work environment with reduction rate in the number of people one employee has contact with to be 50% or less, based on the comparison of the number of contacts in the normal times with that after taking the measures against COVID-19”.
