An excellent researcher who is expected to become a future leader will be recruited as "Outstanding Research Scientist".
The tenure of an "Outstanding Research Scientist" is maximally 5 years; the tenure cannot be extended, but permanent employment may be applied based on his/her research achievement whithin the tenure. Also, research funding (approximately JPY 40,000,000 in total during his/her tenure) will be granted for an outstanding research scientist.
Description
In addition to the originality and novelty of research subject setting as well as his/her research results, a researcher with excellent research skill and expertise on foreseeing the impact of research results and creativity are recruited.
AIST focuses on the creation and practical realization of technologies useful to Japanese industry and society, and on “bridging” the gap between innovative technological seeds and commercialization. On its fifth Medium- to Long-term Plan, AIST sets our mission of "leading the world in solving social challenges and creating innovation that contributes to strengthening industrial competitiveness," and we will focus most of all on the following three topics:
-To lead innovation for solving social challenges
-To strengthen innovation and ecosystems generated by the expansion of "bridging" between industry and research
-To organize bases that support innovation and ecosystems
