The Fukushima Renewable Energy Institute, AIST (FREA) exhibited at the Renewable Energy 2017 International Exhibition held from July 5th (Wednesday) to 7th (Friday) at Pacifico Yokohama, and conducted a joint forum entitled AIST-FREAon July 6th (Thursday).
・At the exhibit booth, six companies from Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture where FREA is located, and other parts of the prefecture made a joint exhibit.
・AIST introduced research and development concerning renewable energy being conducted at the Renewable Energy Research Center and the Photovoltaic Power Generation Research Center, as well as the reconstruction support projects Program for Promoting Technologies Invented by Industry in Disaster Areas in Tohoku and Program for Industry Human Resource Training in the Renewable Energy Field. Also, at the exhibition booth, short oral presentations and poster sessions were held in the morning and afternoon on both July 5th and 7th. After an overview given by the organizers and host researchers, research assistants and postdoc researchers being trained and supervised at FREA gave oral presentations and poster sessions, and then joined in an active exchange of opinions with visitors. Over 1,000 people visited the booth over the three days, exceeding last year’s numbers.
・At the joint forum AIST-FREA Session, presentations were given on the latest research results in the renewable energy field, with the theme of research and development of the massive introduction of renewable energy, with approximately 140 people in attendance.
・According to announcements by the organizer, a total of 26,938 people attended the exhibition over the three days, making it a major success.
