FREA held the Annual Meeting 2018 at the View Hotel Annex in Koriyama City on Tuesday May 29th with 221 attendee.
After the opening speech from Mr. Ryoji Chūbachi, President of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), the meeting started with speech by Mr. Toshiyuki Hata, Vice Governor of Fukushima Prefecture, Mr. Masato Shinagawa, Mayor of Koriyama City and Dr. Yoshiteru Sato, Executive Director of New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization. The keynote speeches were given by Mr. Takuya Yamazaki, Director of New and Renewable Energy Division, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Department, Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Mr. Katsuzo Niizeki, Senior Policy Administrator of Renewable Energy Promotion Sector, concurrently serves as Assistant General Manager of Business Creation Division of Fukushima Prefectural Government. Each team, Energy Network, Hydrogen Energy Carrier, H2 and Heat Utilization System, Wind Power, Photovoltaic Power, Geothermal Energy and Shallow Geothermal & Hydrogeology Team presented as the latest researches and developments. Also the researchers reported on topics such as ammonia synthesis catalyst demonstration and monitoring technology inside the geothermal reservoir.
In addition, speakers from companies and universities conducting joint research with FREA gave lectures regarding the Program for Promoting Technologies Invented by Industry in Disaster Areas in Tohoku, and efforts in human resource training, and various researchers exhibited posters reporting their latest research results.
