Decision on challenges in conducting the 2018 Program for Promoting the Development and Commercialization of Renewable Energy Technologies Invented by Industry in Disaster Areas in Tohoku
From 2013 to 2017, the Fukushima Renewable Energy Institute, AIST (National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, President: Ryoji Chubachi) (FREA) used its know-how and research facilities to promote renewable energy related technologies invented by companies located in the disaster areas of Fukushima Prefecture, Miyagi Prefecture, and Iwate Prefecture (referred to below as “disaster area companies”). In addition, FREA will start new projects under the Program for Promoting the Development and Commercialization of Renewable Energy Technologies Invented by Industry in Disaster Areas in Tohoku from 2018. Conventional industry promotion will be continued at a smaller scale.
This program will focus on its work through a consortium of disaster area companies, with an emphasis on technology development toward the commercialization of renewable energy related products invented in disaster areas using the results of technology promotion so far.
Applications were accepted through public invitation from January 10th (Wednesday) to January 31st (Wednesday) 2018. Following a strict review by the Review Committee, the following seven consortiums and ten individual companies were selected.
